Visa Exemptions (Visa-Free)

Citizens of the following countries are exempt from visa requirements for the specified duration. You may enter with just your passport.

        Important Policy Updates (2024-2025)

        • 5-Year Visa Exemption: Under Decree No. 221, a special 5-year exemption certificate is available for investors, scientists, and professionals, allowing stays of up to 90 days per visit.
        • 45-Day Waiver Extended: The 45-day visa waiver for UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Japan, South Korea, etc., is active until 2028.
        • Exceptions: British National Overseas (BNO) passport holders are not eligible for exemption and must apply for a visa.

        Entry Conditions for Visa-Free Travel

        To enter under a visa exemption, you must meet these criteria:

        • Valid Passport: Must have at least 6 months validity remaining.
        • Passport Pages: Must have at least one (1) blank page.
        • No Bans: Must not fall under restricted entry categories.

        Recommended Documents

        While not strictly mandatory for all, having these can smooth your entry:

        • Return/Onward Ticket: Proof that you intend to leave within the permitted duration.
        • Accommodation: Hotel booking or address of stay in Vietnam.
        • Funds: Proof of sufficient funds for your trip.
